Some casting methods (such as dissolved mold precision casting and pressure casting) are more accurate than others, but there will always be dimensional tolerances or geometric shapes that cannot be directly cast and must be machined. Usually THE foundry (OEM) or other end user will supply THE casting to the machine shop, which will finish it and then return it to the OEM.
