Forging steel valve and casting steel valve

Cast steel valve:
1. there are many kinds of castings, which can be divided into special casting, sand casting, pressure casting and so on. According to casting materials, special casting can be divided into two types: ore special casting and metal material special casting.
2. Casting is a kind of metal hot working process. The production of castings has good comprehensive mechanical properties, wide adaptability and low blank cost. For the parts with complex shape, especially the parts with complex internal structure, it can better reflect the economy of casting production.
3. Casting is the basic process of modern machinery manufacturing industry. The metal is melted into a liquid, poured into the mold, and after it is cooled and solidified, the castings are taken out and cleaned to get castings with predetermined size, shape and mechanical properties.
 
Forged steel valve:
1. According to the molding mode, it can be divided into:
Closed die forging: die forging, rotary forging, cold heading, extrusion and so on.
Open forging: there are two methods: manual forging and mechanical forging. The billet is placed between the upper and lower anvil (iron block) and deformed by impact force or pressure to obtain the desired forgings.
2. Forging is one of the two major components of forging. Forgings are mostly used for the important parts of machinery with high load and bad working conditions. in addition to the profile plate, there are rolling weldments with simple shape. The welding holes and as-cast pores of metal materials can be eliminated by forging.
3. The mechanical properties of forgings are generally better than those of castings of the same material. Forging is through the forging press to exert pressure on the metal blank to make the metal blank plastic deformation, so as to obtain a certain shape and size and better mechanical properties of the processing method.
 
The difference between forged steel valve and cast steel valve:
Casting is liquid forming, while forging is a plastic deformation process. The quality of forged steel valve is better than that of cast steel valve and can withstand greater impact force. The mechanical properties such as plasticity and toughness are also higher than those of steel castings, but the nominal diameter is relatively small, generally below DN50.
Cast valves have lower pressure levels, lower prices, higher performance-to-price ratios, and can be used to make parts that are complex in shape, difficult to forging or cut, and require high strength and plasticity.
