The specification precision of carbon steel forging investment casting is high, which is generally up to CT4-6 (sand casting is CT10~13, aluminum die casting is CT5~7). Naturally, because the whole processing process of investment casting is complicated, there are many factors that harm the specification accuracy of castings, such as the folding of the mold, the deformation of the mold, the linear change of the shell in the process of heating and cooling, the shrinkage of aluminum alloy and the deformation of the casting in the whole condensation process. Therefore, although the specification accuracy of general investment castings is high, its consistency still needs to be improved (when using medium and high temperature wax, the consistency of castings should be improved a lot).
 
When the die is restrained by carbon steel forging, the pressing plate with high cavity surface finish is selected, so the surface finish of the investment mold is also higher. In addition, the shell is made of unique heat-resistant adhesive and fire-resistant thermal insulation material, which is coated on the mold, and the inner surface of the cavity which is in direct contact with the molten metal material has a high finish. Therefore, the surface finish of investment castings is higher than that of ordinary iron castings, which is generally Ra.1.6~ 3.2 μ m.
 
Because the investment castings have high specification accuracy and surface finish, the machining and manufacturing work can be reduced by leaving a small amount of machining allowance in the higher position of the parts, and even some castings only leave polishing and polishing capacity. it can be used without machining. It can be seen that the selection of investment casting can greatly save machinery and equipment, production and construction time, and greatly save metal materials.
